Bornella Fabrics are sponsoring #SewUpcycle22
As a business I want to put the environment front and centre in what I do. And making good use of what we already have is always the most sustainable option. So with that in mind, I am delighted to be sponsoring a new Instagram challenge which puts what we already have to good use, with a little bit of creativity thrown in.
When Becky (@notes_from_the_sewing_room) and Karen (@sew.little.time) announced their new challenge - #sewupcycle22 - I jumped on the chance to be involved. There's a £25 Bornella Fabrics voucher up for grabs for one lucky winner.
The premise of this challenge is easy -
- Make an upcycled garment.
- Use something other than new fabric.
- Include a before photo of what you've used.
- Reveal your garment on the 31st October
- Tag Becky (@notes_from_the_sewing_room) and Karen (@sew.little.time) to make your entry count with the hashtag #sewupcycle22
Feel free to post little sneak peeks and updates throughout the month to share your progress with the hashtag #sewupcycle22wip
For full details, be sure to follow Becky and Karen on Instagram as there are a host of vloggers which will be posting content, tips, advice and progress on YouTube and their other socials.
Personally, I've got some old denim which I'm hoping to make into a 70's inspired skirt. I owned a skirt like it 20 years ago but now it's too small and the zip has broken. So I'm aiming to use it as a template and make something similar. Wish me luck!!!
Happy sewing,
Tanya xx
