Fibre Mood Ermine - A wardrobe classic
Ever since I bought Fibre Mood 16 magazine I have been eyeing up Ermine. It's a top which will easily slot into your wardrobe as it fulfils a lot of important criteria (in my eyes): it's roomy, it's floaty but it's still got a lot of interesting things going on in the construction to make it a satisfying project.
And yes, it was satisfying! You know how some makes are a bit 'blah'. (Nothing goes wrong. It fits just fine. But the end result leaves you a bit flat and wanting more.) Well this was not one of those makes. For some reason, I really enjoyed the process. There is an interesting front yoke which has gathering detail over the bust in a slanted 'V' shape, and a back yoke with gathering too. Leaving the final silhouette fitted over the shoulders and then floaty from the bust down.
I made this from a viscose challis called 'Dancing Daisies'. It's lightweight but not too unruly if you're careful. At the time of writing I still have the navy, green and ochre colourways in stock.
Overall, I'm dead-chuffed with the final garment and will be wearing it a LOT... once the weather warms up!!
Happy sewing,
