EXCLUSIVE: The Playful Posies Collection by Bornella Fabrics.

We've launched our second fabric range called the Playful Posies Collection. Introducing Freya - a beautiful striped green with floral garlands stretching along the cloth. Freya has a nod to vintage wallpaper with a playful, graphic floral design. 

The alternating stripes of emerald and apple greens are separated by linked off-white shapes, which the yellow and orange florals sit on. The flowers are almost like daisies with their multiple petals. It's a really special cloth and I haven't seen anything quite like it for dressmaking before.

This is a dressmaking cotton poplin - it's very smooth against the skin and has a bit of structure but isn't too stiff. It would hold a puff sleeve but still have a little bit of softness and drape. As a dressmaker, I'd say this handles somewhere between a lawn and a poplin - it doesn't have the 'paperyness' that some poplins have, but the drape isn't as relaxed as a lawn. This would be perfect for shirts, blouses, dresses, jumpsuits and much more. It would also be suitable for craft projects and quilts.

Freya was designed by Andrew Pate, who also designs for Dashwood, Boden, and Paperchase, to name a few.

  • Washing Instructions: Machine wash at 30c. Iron low heat. Do not tumble dry. Do not bleach. Do not dry-clean.

We sell our fabric by the half metre – PRICES SHOWN ARE PER HALF METRE.  If you would like a metre then add ‘2’ in the quantity box. For example:

  • 0.5m    = 1
  • 1m       = 2
  • 1.5m    = 3
  • 2m       = 4
  • 2.5m    = 5
  • 3m       = 6

And so on… All orders will be cut in continuous lengths, unless you ask otherwise.
