I'm thrilled to announce that Bornella Fabrics are launching our second fabric collection: Playful Posies. Perfect for dressmaking, the fabrics are printed on a cotton poplin base, it's OEKO-TEX certified and the colours are wonderfully vibrant.

The handle is somewhere between a poplin and a lawn - it'll keep a bit of structure, such as a puff sleeve or a pleat, but it's also got a lovely soft drape. The best of both worlds!

Playful Posies consists of 3 different designs:

Patti - this has echoes of the 1940s with those super-cute blooms inside geometric shapes made up of dots. All set against a true black background.

Freya - With a nod to floral striped wallpapers of the 1950s, Freya has a lovely two-tone stripe sandwiched between floral motifs that run along the length of the cloth. It's an absolutely charming cloth.

Betsey Boo - Another vintage-inspired floral with a little hot pink flower at the centre of those lovely grids. The blue and pink look like a dream together.

The Playful Posies collection was designed by Sholto Drumlanrig and Andrew Pate, print designers who includes Liberty's, Dashwood, Boden, Next and Barbour as their clients. Their designs have a modern retro feel and they are RIGHT up our street.

Playful Posies by Bornella Fabrics will launch at The Stitch Festival in London on March 20th-23rd and be on the website from 24th onwards.

We can't wait for you to see it in person!

Happy sewing,
